I Wonder If God Hears Me…

Sometimes when life is quiet, when no answers are coming, when waiting continues, we wonder… does my voice reach His ears?  Frustrating isn’t it, to wonder if God hears our hearts, if He really hears what we are asking, hoping, dreaming.

Last week I went to the gym, dropped off my youngest in their childcare and took on a much needed workout.  When I went back to get him I didn’t see him right away.  I stood in the middle of this huge room, overlooking two areas filled with a million loud little people, searching.  Then as if there was no other noise in the room I heard a voice call out to me, a “hi mommy!” to get my attention.  I knew it was him.

I knew his voice, his tone, his inflections.  My heart filled with joy.  I turned around to where the sound was coming from, in the middle of the tower of slides, and looked right at his sweet smiling face.

It was physically impossible for me not to recognize his voice.  As a parent, I cannot actually do that.  There’s no switch inside of me, I can’t shut that ability off.  God’s Spirit washed over my heart, standing in the middle of that noisy, motion-filled room, He stopped me and spoke with His love,

“Julie, I always hear your voice.”

In all my motion, in my busy life, in my calendaring of days, He hears me.  It is impossible for Him not to recognize my voice, above all the sounds…..He hears me.

In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.  Psalm 5:3

My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud; My voice rises to God, and He will hear me.  Psalm 77:1

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them…”  John 10:27

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.   And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Phil. 4:6-7

Today, maybe right now, take a moment to be filled.  Filled with His love, His joy and peace, knowing He hears you.

Thank you for this Julie. It just reminded me once again that I can lay from the biggest things in my life to the smallest at His feet and He cares, feels and does what is best for me. It’s also a great comfort to know I have my sisters and brothers offering up prayer for me at this time.
