Three Final Truths When You Want to Stay Untangled

Close-up-tangle

Well, we made it!

We are wrapping up our Untangled Summer Series, and girlfriends, we have covered so much ground.

We have taken so much ground.

I have heard from so many of you, sharing stories of healing redemption, chains broken, and love deeply received. There’s been a lot of processing, some good tears, and a whole bunch of joy in realizing, maybe for the first time, that you don’t have to live with that shame, fear, worthlessness and unforgiveness…anymore.

It has been such an honor to walk this Untangled journey with you.

Thank you so much Carey Scott (author of the book Untangled), for being my friend and showing all of us what it means to live a life open and untangled with our God.

As we go, I have three final truths that I want you to encourage you with and ask that you hold onto with all that you are:

1. God loves you. May you never grow calloused to that phrase. I pray that you will always stay alive to the truth of that amazing statement. He is for you, He is not against you. You are so precious to Him and He loves you with a love that never.ever ends.

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since He did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for His own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with Himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and He is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.” Romans 8:31-34

“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17

2. His Transformation brings life. Not sin management. Sin management says it’s on me, and I better get it right. Transformation says I need God. So many times in my life I’ve tried to change myself, to just pull myself up and do better. When what I needed was to stand with open arms, asking God to change me from the inside out. Do this work with Him…stay open before Him.

“I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2

3. His Amazing Grace never ends. There may be moments you stumble. You may get tangled up again, forgetting the good you’ve learned from Him. Remember that you will never out-sin or disqualify yourself from God’s love. Ever. Run back to His grace.

“Overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.” Romans 8:1-2

My friends, you have the transforming power of God Almighty within you. As you continue to turn your eyes upon Jesus, and look full in His wonderful face, all the things of this world and all that we’ve held onto for so long, will grow strangely dim. Because of the light of His Glory and Grace.

Thank you so much for being a part of this summer study. Seriously. Thank you so much.

I wish so much that for just a moment, we could blink and all be in the same room. For those of us who have taken this Untangled journey together, I wish that we could just take a second and gather together, from all over, and stand face to face. There would be so much light in all of our eyes. Can you picture it, as you look around? Eyes filled with His glory and joy. We would laugh, hug and probably tear up…there would be a knowing among us. A knowing to our very souls at how good our God is, and how MUCH He has done among us.

Let’s walk together in that truth, my sweet friend. Wherever you are today, knowing that you are not alone. Your good and amazing God is with you, delighting in you and directing your every step.

Trust Him when He says you are free.

Stand strong in His Truth.

Believe God’s heart for you.

That He truly wants you to live…untangled.

I try and try and try to bring Gods truths to my heart. My mind is saying ” no no NO!! Not for you”-I take one step forward and three steps back. Is this “normal?” Am I just being too impatient?? I read about sudden healings from lots of people-I feel worthless in my waiting. I feel like a failure when I know my sisters are healed. I’m more than thrilled for them. But in my waiting I feel not worth saving. Then I give up and let my negative thoughts win out again. I know this is the finish line for lots of women but not for me. Any suggestions? Thanking you in advance.

Susanmarie, thank you for your honest heart here. Waiting is so difficult, do not do that alone, whether with friends or a counselor. Praying for you.

Whew, what a Blessing this has been…… Hard, yes, but never the less, a Blessing ~~ He has revealed things I had forgotten and things I should have forgotten. Things I had known and not wanted to acknowledge… It has been freeing in many ways and I am Thankful…. More work to be done however it CAN be done !!

    With Love,
    Mary
