This study has been like fresh cool breeze in the dessert for me. Living in Colorado Springs with the fires that effected and burned many of my friend’s homes and the loss of lives in Aurora, this study kept me focused on Jesus.

Sherry our hearts have broken this summer for our Colorado Springs friends, as well as all those in the Denver-metro area impacted by injury and loss. You said it so well, His words have been such a necessary breeze over us all. Thank you so much for being with us.

Summer is a time for me to kickback and relax from the rigorous school year schedule. I have been reading a few books and also engaged right away with the Red Letter Summer series. I love that I can sit in my home and study along with other women, so easy! My time with the Lord this summer has been the best I have ever experienced. I feel the Holy Spirit being so active and alive and participating in my everyday life. I have enjoyed seeing what the women leaders in our church have had to say as they themselves reflect on God’s word and share their personal views. I’m thankful for such dedication and willingness for them to pour in my life as I seek to grow and become more like Christ each new day. It is so simple and yet sometimes so hard to grasp.

Barbie I’m so thankful for how God has used this in your life this summer! What a powerful testimony that your time with the Lord has been so rich. Thank you so much for sharing your heart.

Forgive me if I am blogging in the wrong place.

The study of John has put me directly in touch with my Father’s love.

In the study of John I continue to reflect on Jesus’s baptism. I cross referenced this in Matthew where in chapter 3, veruse 17 God said “This is my son in whom I am well pleased”. Through Jesus’s travels, healings, miracles and now as we start the trial and crucifixion, I hear God saying over and over again, “This is my son in whom I am well pleased”. When Jesus stands before the Roman soldiers and proclaims that he is the one they are looking for, I hear God saying “This is my son in whom I am well pleased.”

I love the heart of my Father and yet it is almost uncomprehendable to me that he would make this sacrifice of his Son for me. To take His pefect kid whom he loves and be willing to sacrifice him for the attonement of all of mankinds sin is beyond my comprehension as a parent. What love. I fall to my knees and am humbled.
